If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be living at the lake and owning my very own home at 20 I would have laughed and told you that you were crazy! Moving here I wasn't sure what to expect and was so worried that I would miss my small town and feel overwhelmed by how busy the Lake can be, but boy was I wrong! Living at the lake has been a much more peaceful experience than I ever imagined. In the summer this place can really get busy, especially on the strip, but with all the busyness, comes all these wonderful things to do. Whether you're boating, barbecuing, walking the strip, hanging out at different events, eating at all the amazing restaurants, or shopping at the outlet mall there are people all over and always something to go do. You for sure will have a hard time finding yourself bored. The Lake is a vacation destination that brings with it people just wanting to relax and have fun. Of course occasionally you'll find those angry folks but mostly everyone is just happy and smiling and enjoying themselves. After summers over and most of the people go away you are left with an even more peaceful winter. The locals are basically the only ones here and it feels like everybody knows everybody. I'm allowed my small town feel for a while. This for me is what makes me fall even more in love with the Lake. It's like I'm on vacation all summer (Aside from working :P) and it feels like I'm back home in the winter. I get the best of both worlds and hopefully you will too! :)
